Things Spanish Children Say

Well the year is in full swing and I'm working 9-5 (with a 2.5 hour lunch/siesta period of course).

It's been a bit stressful to adjust to teaching younger children but every day there is a little gem that I take away from the experience.

Today:

Me: Children, do you remember my name?
Children: (silent with blank stares).
Me: Anyoneeee....??
Children: Ehhhmmm...

Girl raises her hand.

Me: Yes??
Girl: Ehmm...chocolaté (pronounced as CHO-CO-LATTE)

Children erupt in laughter.

Me: Umm, no. (Concealing my own laughter).
Me: Anyone else?
Children: (Collectively) Chocolateeeeeee!

Round One: Chocolate - 0, 6 year old children - 1
